Author Topic: Frame slider's, Case guards, Worth it or just Bling??? (Read 5927 times)

I'm in a thither! Need to cut my busa fairing to install round plastic frame slider's. But unlike the Bandit with a easy repairable frame this is aluminum and they bolt to the fwd top eng mounts. Any have any experiences? Do they save anything or just bling that may actually do more damage in an unfortunate situation???

I have seen case guards do wonders for both fairing and non fairing bikes.

Looks totally cool! What a BIKE!

What is tought putting on those sliders? Thinking of doing the same considering how much time my 650 spends on its side!

If you are using the ones that mounts to a eng mount etc and has to have a hole cut in the fairing. I found drilling a hole as close to the spot needed, and with fairing in place i used the drill bit like a router for just the slider hole needed. The Busa has a plastic fairing. Fibre glass etc may need sawing. They say to use a 2" hole saw but that's too big. [/b]

Tell me about it! I had the sliders before BOSS and it took till now with all the do it comments to get the nerve. Glad i did though! Ps AMA super dupper in 10

Er, you asked! Unfortunately, bikes that go down almost never cooperate by landing just on the end of their frame sliders and nothing else. it's usually a "3-point" landing.
