Oxtar Infinity Gore Tex Boots

I got these boots with some money Santa gave me, and I really like them.  Granted, they are my first pair of motorcycle boots, so I don't have a lot to which to compare them.  You can read all about the features of the boots online (GoreTex, CE armor in shins, etc.).  Here's what you won't find online:

They look pretty cool and they're comfortable to wear around, for a boot that comes 3/4 the way up your shin.  I wore them with khaki pants all day on Tuesday on a work trip and they were fine (they do squeak a little).  The ratchet fasteners (similar to old school ski boots) work really well and snug them up quickly.

When I first got them and they weren't broken-in, shifting felt a little vague and I would occasionally miss a shift.  But now that they're more broken-in, I don't have a problem with shifting at all.

I wore them in a heavy rain (not on purpose) for over an hour, and they were, of course, dry inside.

They are more of a dual sport boot, so you could wear them on your DR or DRZ in the woods and they'd be fine.

I wear a 9 1/2 or 10 in most shoes and have a medium-width foot.  These Oxtar Infinity boots are size 43, and fit great.  In European-sized bicycling shoes (Sidi), I typically wear size 43.5 or 44.

I've never paid this much ($210 at www.newenough.com) for a pair of shoes or boots, but this was money well-spent.

I am looking for a pair if boots myself but alot of the local shops don't carry them. Probably will have to order them. My feet are close to your size so your info on sizing will be very helpful. Did you order them? Did you get lucky and get the size right the first time? I hate buying things blind like that.

just re-read and saw you got from newenough. how was the service. Please disregard my stupid did you order question. :banghead:

230 miles in drizzle/rain/downpour/"oh shit i can't see anything" and my feet stayed bone dry.  Boots have broken in nicely and shifter feel has improved immensely.

I am currently wearing Timberland Pro Series 6" steel toe work boots(my job is nice enough to give us a free pair of boots every year) which work ok, but I have on order to recieve my first pair of motorcycle boots as well. They are the new Sidi B-One's. The local shop here in town carries Sidi so I sat down on the floor and tried on many different sizes in 3 different models. I normally wear a size 11 sneaker, but these Sidi's seemed to fit quite nicely as a 10(size 44 Euro I believe). I will get them the end of this month and I can't wait to try them out!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to go wrong with Sidi.  I wear Sidi cycling shoes and they are the cat's a$$ -- Italians make the best shoes/boots.

Lace up boots can lead to a low speed dump if you happen to have a lace loop around a peg (never happened to me), so good for you getting some real m/c boots.

Trying to convert euro sizing to American sizing is tricky.  I have 43s which fit like size 10 American, but I have had 43s (Diadora cycling shoes) that fit like a 9 American.  You did the right thing by trying them on.   :beers:

Gore tex, what brilliant stuff, I bought a set of alphine star gore tex linned boots some 4 years back, and have never suffered wet feet since.
I'm now waiting for some one to come up with gore tex linned jacket and pants.
Foot loose and fancy free.
Looking for adventure and what ever comes our way.

Military/law enforcement clothing has GoreTex. I bought a pair of GoreTex gloves from Cabela's, but they would offer no fall protection I'm sure.
