Proline Windjammer

I was a bit dubious about this thing, but went ahead anyway and ordered one. Now that I've used it for about a week I can say that overall I am glad that I bought it. It pretty much does what it says, shields the chin and jaw from cold drafts and reduces the volume of low frequency wind noise in the helmet.



One downside is that it makes the helmet harder to put on and take off, particularly take off. Haven't had any fogging issues from it despite riding in traffic in close to freezing temps. Installs easily.

I've used a NOJ Quiet Rider Basic that works similar to that, but it didn't make much difference in helmet donning difficulty.
The NOJ is also available in Standard, Deluxe & Cold Weather versions, but I found the Basic did a nice job year round, so didn't see a need for the fancier versions for myself.

My HJC FG-12 came with a "chin insert" which works sort of similarly, but the Windjammer looks like it would do a better job. I use the HJC insert in the spring and fall, and it does provide some benefit, but it can also cause some fogging of my glasses due to a little less airflow.

Overall looks like a worthwhile, cold weather addition. I may ask for one for Christmas.
