TourMaster Cortech Sport Tailbags from Helmet Harbor

Very happy with this purchase, for two reasons. First, glad to shed my Nerd Sack aka back pack. Hated tooling around looking like I am on my way to study hall. Plus, always found wearing a back back to be uncomfortable while riding. Second, this bag attaches so easily to the B12 you might think it was made for it especially. With a slight adjuststment to the knots in the Bungee's you can secure this bag right to the pegs/bolts that are already on the rear grab rail and the side of the cowling. This way the bungees never come in conctact with your paint and the only thing touching the bike is the bag on the seat and the hooks around the bolts.

Highly recommend this product.

I just got mine and I'm very impressed.  I really like the pad on the bottom of the bag.  It's made out of tacky, thick wetsuit material.  It's almost like the bag would stick to the seat without the bungees.

This isn't a very big bag, but it's perfect for commuting and could easily handle a change of clothes and your shaving bag for an over nighter, with a pair of running shoes for when you pull off your riding boots at the end of the day.

I've had the tailbag and saddlebags for about 9 months now. I've been really pleased with the way they look and the workmanship that went into them. The combination of the tail and saddlebags will hold enough for a weeks trip if you are a light packer. I'd have bought the small tank bag too if I hadn't already had a good one.

I've got a givi set that I'm starting to think about replacing with those tourmaster cortech sport bags.  I really do like the givi's a lot, but I feel like they're a little bulky for my needs, and I'm starting to feel like the wingrack2 is detracting from the look of the bike when the cases are off.

As I said on the "old board," I have the Cortech sport tailbag and freakin' love it.  The layer of the material on the bottom of the bag (like wetsuit material) makes it stick to the seat very well.  It looks almost like a briefcase when I take it off and carry it into work (mine's black).

Probably not big enough by itself for touring, but it's fantastic for commuting.  Easy off and on the bike.

I have the saddlebags, sport tailbag, supermini tankbag and the backpack with the helmet bag attachment.  The supermini tank bag is very handy although very small.  It will hold a cap, a paperback book and a can of chain lube.  There is a small pocket at the rear, toward the rider, that will hold a small automatic pistol if you are legally able to do so in your state/province/country.   And it will stay attached at high speeds.  The backpack is great when you do not want to leave anything that is easily removable on the bike.  The helmet holder/bag is damned goofy looking but it serves its purpose really well.  Multi-hundred dollar lids will walk away quickly....I believe the Cortech equipment to be a very good bang for your hard earned currency......

So, how exactly are those bags (saddle, and tail) attached to the bike?  Are there methods to 'lock' the bags onto the bike?  I'm very interested in getting some, but not if they're going to fly off along the interstate...

Soft saddle bags don't lock to the bike. They basically just sit on the bike with a couple of strap to keep them from flying off. Tail bags bungee on.

Was in the local bike shop the other day and they had some of those Cortech tail bags... nice looking!
I like the bungees on my Wolfman bag better, but the Cortech bag LOOKS better. The Wolfman has looped bungees with removeable hooks. I removed the hooks and just wind the bungess around the spools a couple times, that way the hooks can't scratch the paint.

I have the tail bag and mini tankbag and am thinking about getting the saddlebags.  Anyone use them on a long trip?  Do they scuff or otherwise damage the paint on the plastic side fairings?  Also did they stay in place (not shift around)?

The sadddlebags are like the tailbag, they have the neoprene backing that will keep any scratching and buffing to a minimum. They come with latches that you attach to the bike, then you just clip the bags to the latches. It takes a bit of adjustment to get it right the first time you put them on.

Received my bags yesterday!  After the adjustment period, they fit great, and are easy enough to install/remove.  The tailbag is perfect for my laptop.  I think we're going to be able to take a weekend trip either tomorrow or next weekend, and I'm anxious to see how they hold up.

So far, so good!!

I have a set of the tourmaster SB-130 bags. These are the smaller sized bags like the Sport bags. I have had them for about 3 or 4 years and I'm very happy with their performance and durability.

Just started using the Cortech Tailbag. Love it! Even hauled some steaks and potato salad in it. Has enough room without expanding it to hold my Cortech overpants(which are pretty bulky folded up) when the weather gets warm.

I have a Nelson Rigg tail bag that I like pretty well, hard to beat the company for the money. Real good product, pretty satisfied. I am currently looking at a Teknic magnetic tank bag, between them and Nelson Rigg.

To further my previous comments.  Earlier this week I made a 200 mile round trip to my Mom's with the side bags and the tailbag loaded both ways.  No scuffing, easy on and off.  Top speed indicated on the Garmin was 135.3 on a short stretch of straight road and nothing moved, came off or otherwise caused trouble including the mini tank bag which was loaded with my favorite hometown burger for the return to Nashville....Great merchandise for the money.... :bigok:  Next week I'm going to try out the Cortech backpack with hydration bladder for a hundred miles or so....

I will have to jump on the  Tourmaster Sport Tailbag bandwwagon. I've had it about a week and it does everything well;glued to the bike with the material on the bottom; easy on and off; great size ,but doesn't sit up too high; quality construction.

I rode with a book bag for around town stuff last year and using the tailbag is  a 1000% better.

I do wish I could figure out how to secure the main opening(Zippers dont seem to have a big enough hole for even the smallest lock) and easily secure(lock) it to the bike, while it was in its normal position. ANY IDEAS?

I know a determined thief could get it. I more interested in stopping the quy that will just snatch it as they walk by.
