Oil
I'm a new B4 owner, and unfortunately without a manual of any kind for it. What weight oil does it like? Also, my dealer doesn't carry Suzuki oil; what other brands can you recommend? Thanks.

Re: Oil
the manual says 10W-40.
any standard motor oil from pep boys will do. if you want to get fancy, i know a lot of guys that recommend mobil-1 synthetics. just stick with standard 'car' oil; no need to shell out 2-3x as much for 'motorcycle' oil.
oh yes, congrats on the new b4.

Oil and some other specs
There should be a couple of specification stickers on the left side of the Bike( Well they should be there unless they were removed).
Cheers on the bike.

Re: Oil
I've read several commentaries that suggest motorcyclists should not use synthetic blends. If I got it right, because most motorcycles use a wet clutch system (oil in contact with clutch plates?) synthetic blends can actually overlubricate and lead to slippage in the clutch. Don't know what the real story is, but I read this in at least three different sources. I'm sticking to good old fashioned erl.

my two cents
I have an EX 500 with 50,000 mi. on the clock. I have always used Mobil 1 synthetic and I have never felt the clutch slip. The clutch is the original that came from the factory.
