So, I bought the 520 chain conversion and Gimbel rearsets from that guy, Brian, that was selling his crashed track bike here a month or so ago (the guy I got my V&H from). I knew the rearsets were a project. Other than some scuffs where he dragged the shift lever in turns, the left side is PERFECT. He went down on the right side. The brake lever is twisted, the bearing bolt is snapped and the peg is gone. He had previously cut/welded the lever to shorten it. The one banjo bolt is bent too but probably works. New parts from Gimbel, through Wild Hair Accessories, are $135 + shipping (bearing bolt - $25, peg - $25, brake lever - $85). The brake lever may be "straightenable". I've thought of taking it to a machine shop to see what they say about it.
I'd love to get these things on my bike but the truth is, I could really use some cash. The rearsets new from Wild Hair are $360. If someone here wanted to give me $50 plus shipping, they could end up with them for <$200 - much less if the lever is salvagable. They'll come with an extra stock rear master cylinder and a SS braided line. I'll try to get some pics over the weekend if anyone is interested. Post or PM questions.
