Taking off the can

Has anyone cut-off the can leaving just the pipe?  I am toying with the idea of doing this but am not sure of any (if any) back-pressure issues!

i've just unbolted mine before and gone nuts. It sounds awesome, doesn't really go any better, but sounds hella mean. Extremely loud though. you will be noticed.

Cut off the can this weekend and was very happy with the result.

It sounds much better!  Doesn't go any better but to my satisfaction and relief, doesn't go any worse either!!!

It was too loud at first so I have simply stuffed the pipe with the inner core of a fuel filter wrapped in fibreglass flywire.  This had the desired effect and reduced the loudness to a level I feel comfortable with.

I haven't had to muck around with carbs or anything as the bike runs fine as is now on all settings prior taking off the can.

Incase you're wondering why I did this, it is purely for asthetic reasons.  I've seen streetfighters with this set-up and love the look.
