b4 life expectancy.
« on: December 11, 2011, 07:33:49 PM »
It is concerning that the service intervals in the manual end at 24k...

What sort of mileage have folks gotten from their little bandits?

Thanks

I'm at 30K plus.

-Multiple track days

-Multiple crashes

-Multiple trips to 14K on the revs.

If you take care of the bike, it will be fine.

I'm about at 31k.  Starting to burn a bit more oil but I'm attributing that to 21 year old valve seals.

Currently at 56000. Hasn't missed a beat yet. (knock on wood)
It does use a bit of oil.. I reckon 1L/3000KM?

Hi from France,

This is my first post by the way.

I got mine more than 1 year ago but spent time to review almost all settings. It has not seen a mechanic for a while and not since then. I even learned how to make the sync by myself with a home-made tool. Unfortunately, I have no idea of the bike history before 2008.

It had 66500 km when I got it and now has 69000 km (I passed this mileage today!). I does not consume oil, and only 5.3L/100 km (sorry, not familiar with gallons and miles per gallon). Anyway, this seems to be really reliable but as I said, I do not know its history, so maybe, the engine has been rebuilt already.

Bye.
Benoit.

"I does not consume oil, and only 5.3L/100 km" ???  That seems like a lot of oil.

Sorry, I meant 5.3L/100 km for the gas consumption, which is I assume not bad. But maybe I'm wrong...

I had 50k on my B4 before I wiped the sucker out. Still going strong 'till the end.
