GSXR 400 exhaust
« on: September 01, 2005, 01:45:43 PM »
Hey guys, i was just wandering if that a GSXR 400 end can would be suitable for my B4 400 VVC. I know the B4 motor is derived from the GSXR 400 motor, but i was just wandering, if an end can would fit/ be sutable for the engine.

Thanks in advance!!
If at first it don't fit .......... Smack it with a hammer(might be the reason my B4 is nackered)

will the GSX 4 down pipes fit too ??

or would i be  :banghead: trying to get more performance from this ??

(wanting a better breathing machine and higher-end performance is possible)

Thanks  :thumb:

Pretty sure you need the GSXR oil pan to make the down pipes fit.

I still have the (heavy) dual exhaust in my shed, never got around to putting it on... I'm thinking of getting a new frame for the Bandit and look for some new suspension parts and wheels. That little 400 stills has speed records in the smaller curves that I haven't been able to beat with the old Gixxer lol

Anyway, the best exhaust I've found for the B4 is the Yoshimura steel exhaust. It's very light, gives all the ground clearance you will ever need and it breathes pretty good even up to 15000 revs. I've also ran a GSXR 400 4-in-1 exhaust, didn't really like it. I went back to my stock stainless headers until I got the yosh pipes. The Yoshimura end can is pretty bad by the way, better to replace it for a simple open muffler.

Aid,
you can get systems from japan for your Mk2, the problem is that parts are expensive, there are about 4 or 5 different manufacturers that supply for your model. Take a look at somewhere like www.naps.jp

How so, and for what usage is the yosh can bad?
