Anybody know where i can get some decent secondhand or new rear B400 plastics. the two side ones that are below the rear seat and around the brake light and the centre section that sits above the rear light.

New, if available, they would be ridiculously expensive, I would think. They do show up on ebay from time to time - more frequently it seems in the UK.

yeah i bought some off ebay but they were missing all the lugs and the guy had drilled holes in them and used zip ties to attach them! these were described as "reasonable condition".

A few months ago one of our newer members bought a Bandit 400 on Ebay in 'near mint' condition. He dropped something like $1500 into getting it riding. So much for 'near mint'!

Sometimes you get good deals, sometimes you get bent over and something stuck where it shouldn't be.

Best bet on plastics would maybe be a motorcycle junkyard, there are a few that have Bandit 400s in them. I can't think of any off the top of my head, though. Just call around, most yards are interlinked with computers so they may be able to get them for you.

$1,500, that was me! I'm up to $2,200 in repairs, and another $200 on the horizon. The bike has cost more than $3,300. But, it was the bike I wanted and it only had 4,000 miles on it.

All I need is a left side engine case cover. The one I has has a hairline crack in it and it gets my left foot oily after long rides.

Anybody got any ideas? I'm thinking a new gasket and some JB Weld.

There were some side covers on Ebay yesterday, I don't know if they still are.

B6mick is a firm believer in JB Weld and has used it on his bikes for similar fixes.
One of B6mick's repair threads featuring JB Weld on engine parts.

I've had good sucess with it on lots of minor things too.
I did punch a hole in a side case with a shifter on my first bike and took it (the side case) into school and had one of the guys in the welding shop weld it up for me.
