CDI Bandit
« on: October 11, 2006, 04:38:28 AM »
Just wondering if anyone can tell me the part number of my cdi. I've been told by the garage mine is broken but the part number is partly rubbed off. All i get make out is ***00-33**. My bike is a gsf 400 vm, frame number GK75a 120043. engine number k707137727 (the one with the red top).
Any help would be greatly appreciated as without this i'm obviously stuck and my soldering skills are not gooed enough to try repairing it.

some photos

This is the strange part every other bandit cdi seems to have two sockets to plug into mine just has one.

The ones with the red top have different CDI from the normal ones. I also have one with the red top. I will look to see whether I can find a part number on my CDI when I get home. I am currently at work.

Mine also looks like yours with the single plug. Will see if I can find anything.

Right BB7242 is the number on mine so maybe not the same type. But your part number 32900-33D20 would make sense as i can make out the 00-33.

Do you reckon it can make much difference :?:  If I get a cdi from a bike with the same engine version surely it will work.

All help and opinions greatly appreciated.

My bike is also one with the red top, engine nimber: K707-128413. So thst means the engines should propably be the same, thus I reckon that if this CDI works for me it should work for you too.

There is something else I want to ask you, do you know what size main jets you are running? If you dou could you please tell me. I am currently struggling with carb problems and can't find out which mains to install as I can not find much info on the vv model(the one with the red top).

Cheers

I'm not sure what main jets i'm using. Don't know if these will be of any help to you. If you check the I.D number on your carbs you should be able to find out what the standard size is here.

Cdi now fitted bike is now running sweet. Still got the old broken one so ill probably try to fix it soon so i have a spare. But from my experience i can say that the two plug versions are far more common. Cheers for the help guys. :beers:
