centerstand height
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:58:56 PM »
So how far does the rear wheel sit above the ground when the bike is on the centerstand for a stock configuration?

When my bike is on the centerstand, the rear tire is about 2" off the ground and just relative to the couple of other bikes I've owned, it seems pretty high and hard to prop up... it has stock tires.

So I'm wondering if the rear shock or linkage has been modified or is this just normal for this bike?

ps. bike is running great. I'm getting over 60 miles per gallon commuting on the freeway at 8000 rpm.

Normal.

My bike with raising links, 150/60 rear tire and newer GSXR shock: tires are both on the ground with the centerstand. I have a 1" thick piece of wood I park the bike on to elevate the rear tire when storing it.

Best technique to lifting the bike onto the centerstand: push down on the stand and pull up on the garb bar.
