Chrome air filters
« on: December 27, 2006, 11:37:05 AM »
I'm in the process of rebuilding a GSF400N (1992, jap import.

To the best of my knowledge the 400n runs Mikuni 32mm carbs without ram pipes.

Does any one know if the airbox can be replaced with 4 individual chrome air filters?

thanks

It probably has 33 mm carbs. You can replace the airbox by seperate filters but you will have to rejet the carbs. You'll also ruin your engine when using cheap filters. I would either keep the airbox but with a K&N filter element or get four seperate K&N filters, no cheap junk.

Thanks gents. The 2Fast4U set up is exactly what i had in mind. my only concern is the rejetting of the carbs. Here in Malta its hard to come along somebody who really knows his stuff on bike mechanics!
