Shocking mileage.
« on: February 23, 2009, 01:13:07 PM »
Ive just been checking when my MOT runs out ( May )
and thought i would check how many miles i clocked up last year. The answer shocked me

975

Shocking..... Im ashamed of myself.
I then checked back and the old girl has done just under 4000 miles since Nov 04. Before that she had done 28000 ish, but all the paperwork has been lost.
So, a late new years resolution. Take my bike out.

I didn't have much time for riding last year either. :(

I've been contemplating not even riding this year and saving cash but I'm sure I'll change my tune come spring.

If I didn't count commuter miles (~5k miles), I'd be well under 500.  Most of those were on the track, which doesn't suck, but still I just didn't get out much.

The good news is, it makes me feel better about my inability to buy a bigger better bike. I dont really need one, as i dont do enough miles.

Just under 60,000 kms in the past 6 seasons...(on the B6, not counting rentals)

This year is starting out well however...I rented a HD Sportster in Hawaii in Jan, and put on 450kms, and picked up my new Sprint ST last week and put 300 kms on it on Friday & Sat (in between painting the garage floor at my daughter's townhouse). So...even though I'm sitting here in the snow, I'm thinking I just MIGHT be able to ride every month this year. Objective is for at least 12,000 kms this year, we'll see.

I've not really checked but I think I put on maybe 3-4000 miles last summer. I vowed to put on at least a few miles every week all winter, but that failed utterly when we got 3 feet of snow in a week or something stupid like that. Unfortunately, I mostly get to commute to/from work and a little bit to school (20 miles on a country highway, not bad). But no where near as many miles as I've done in past years.

I've clocked 0 miles in 2 years...nice!

Been working on other stuff though...so hopefully this year the shop will be done and I'll have time to repair and ride.  :thumb:

Well, since I'm "officially" fully retired a/o last Hallowe'en, the theory is that I should be able to ride my wheels off this coming riding season.
Unfortunately, my RRSPs (401Ks to our US cousins) are all under water right now, sooooo......I may be heading back to work this summer. :banghead:
I have at least 2 group rides planned for this season but I was hoping to get away more on my own or with just one or two riding buds.
Well, we'll see......Here's hoping.... :beers:
