Fuel Pipes
« on: March 22, 2010, 10:41:30 AM »
I have removed the fuel pipes from my tank without labeling them first.  :duh:

I have three pipes one with a filter which is clearly the fuel line, another from the carbs and one from the engine rubber inlet mount.

I have two connections on my fuel tap, for fuel and for vacuum and one on the tank that I think is a overflow.

Can anyone help me with this?

(I can post pictures if you need. The bike is a bandit 400M. )

-Line with filter: to fuel feed of petcock

-vacuum line off of carb boot: to vacuum feed for petcock

-Vent line: from bottom of tank to hose that T's from coolant overflow.

By process of elimination you should be able to figure it out from there.

I don't know if this will help because your pipes will be in a slightly different place, but see if this helps:

That helps alot!
So the vacuum comes from the eninge not the carbs!
As for the overflow, Where does that go?

I think the vacuum must come from the carbs, but must be from the underneath; I haven't looked to see where it actually originates.

Which end of the overflow are you talking about? On the bike end, it just runs through to the underside, doesn't connect to anything as such (apart from a couple of cable guides).
