i've just bought a centerstand for the bike from ebay, and found that where the bolt needs to go in, the exhaust gets in the way. is there a way of getting the stand on without removing the exhausts?

I only mount it when I'm working on the bike, I mount if with one bolt only which works fine. It always hits the ground while riding so I removed it.

One bolt is enough to work on the bike yes, however if you remove both wheels and don't support the bike correctly it will tip over.
