Rear brake master cylinder
« on: May 07, 2007, 05:48:00 AM »
Does anyone know if the rear brake master cylinder from another model of bike will bolt straight on to the 400? Mine is knackered.

400 parts are hard to source, and 'other bike' parts are plentiful.

i dont know what knackered is, but i guess you mean broken  :stickpoke:

also dont know if any other will fit, although my guess would be alot of suzuki parts will fit; maybe the gs500 one.
but i do know i've got a spare one...

Cor blimey guvnor, apples and pears, divvent ee speekee di quins engerlish, loike?

'Knackered' = broken. From when they used to take old horses to the knackers yard to melt them down for glue. 'That horse is ready for the knackers' = 'it is knackered'.

How much for the spare?

So the TL1000, GSXR600, 750, 1000 will bolt straight in on the same mounting points?

I didn't know they ever made a mini-bike version of the TL. Bet that little 100cc V-twin is cuter than a GSXR 50.

ghehe i read wrong...
i though you meant your rear caliper is broken, of which i have a spare one  :stickpoke:

but i havent got a spare rear master cilinder...

i've got two spare master cilinders iirc   , but i dont know if they work well. i'll take a look at them when im home.
if they are alright, you can buy one for €15 + postage (which i will know as soon as i weight it and check it)

Excellent info. I'm quite tempted to get one from a different bike just for the hell of it. I'm already planning to upgrade with parts from 5-6 other bikes. Maybe by the time I'm done i can get it into double figures.....
