Ohh! You want to compare the English gallon, and you're getting 35mpg? That's car milage!
uhm,.. keep the right wrist in a slightly more upright position.
With the english gallon, I think her milage was closer to something insane at the time like 54mpg on the highway, and somewhere around 75 - 80 imperial mpg.
Mostly, make sure the bike is in good tune, and that the engine isn't working any harder than it has to. ( air filter clean, spark plugs working, I even short change the oil. 5000 kms last year and 3 oil changes. etc)
Then the major thing is that I tend to short shift her, and keep her in low rpms when I'm riding around the city. Also ticks less people off. (no screaming engine.) In fact, most of my neighbors didn't know I rode, til I brought the bigger one home last month, now they're taking note.
