My 400 Cafe Build

I will add some details later. Basically, I'm using the '95 gsxr 750 for parts.

My brother had the header. It's from Bandit Mania in th UK and the can is off the gsxr.
I drilled and tapped a hole to bolt on the rear sets and reversed the shift....so its 1 up and 5 down.
I installed a Barnett carbon clutch and springs, Factory pro Stage III jet kit with K&N pods, and still to come is a Factory Pro shift kit. The shift kit has to be installed by removing the oil sump.

Fox shock from the '95 gsxr.

I hope some of this inspires you to make some modifications here in the States. The Bikes in the gallery from across the pond are really nice! They do have more years of the bike for parts, dual disks, and seem all those guys know how to weld and use a lathe. Makes me jealous!

A few more small things done tonight. I will try to have the front sprocket and and rear sprocket carrier milled tomorrow.

The swap was very easy; if you are familiar with turning a wrench.
* Use the Bandit swingarm bolt
* Cut off support bracket on the frame that is behind the shift side rear set.
* Heat and bend support bracket on the frame behind the rear brake side rear set.
* Some grinding on the "U" shaped bracket, where the "dog bone" link and the bottom of the rear shock attaches. The Gsxr shock needs about 2mm ground on the "U" to attatch the shock and use the longest of the dog bone links. This gave me a lower ride height. I used the shorter ones to race and give a higher ride height and quicker turning.

This swing arm will shorten your wheel base by 1.5" to 2". See my photos and details in the Bandit gallery. I have done a similiar build before to race in WERA.

94 gsxr rear sets
95 gsxr radiator
Penske rear shock
94-95 gsxr sharkskins
GMD frame
1mm pistons
Adjusted cam sprockets
1mm off head

Since you are in Canada: you can probably find a GSXR 400 or Aprilia RS 250. I heard they were also easy swaps. I've seen the gsxr 400 swap and it seemed easy.

Oh yeah, he seemed perfectly normal, used to be a tech at a Honda shop and had other plans for the bike than what the parts I had for sale with mine had.

I'll make sure he knows about the site and have him look you up.  It would be very cool to have two hot-rodded B4s around Richmond.

If you want the headlight lower, you can use t-bolt clamps like in this thread.
