250 bandit 95 (GJ77A) Correct Fork oil level
« on: September 20, 2010, 03:01:16 AM »
Hi all, I am only new to this forum and I am hoping someone could give me some advice. I have searched everywhere to find the correct amount of fork oil in a 95 250 bandit (GJ77A).

In my travels I have found levels for the GJ74A, the Bandit 400 / 600 and the GSX250, but not the GJ77A. Can some please help me.

Thanks

Hi all,
Well this question looks like a tough one, I am still at a loss but I have to do some thing to get the old girl back on the road.  so this is what I am going to do. I took 400ml out of each fork so I think I will put 420ml back. I am allowing an extra 20ml for oil that did not fully drain out.

I hope that this post will assist other people replacing fork seals.  If you have any suggestions, please post as I like to hear from others before I make a mistake.  :duh:

Cheers...

Hi All,
Me again, well I have finally found out the correct amount of oil to put in a 250 bandit VS (GJ77A). This info came direct from the importers.

This is what they said.   Take out the spring, damper and compress the shockie.  Put in some no10 fork oil and pump the shockie to get the air out of the galleries.  then fill the shockie up untill 100mm from the top.

After doing this process, I have about 80ml left in a 1ltr bottle so each shock takes about 460ml.  this sound right because I took out of each shock about 400ml.

I can't believe it took a month or more to find this out.....  I hope this helps the next guy who is looking for this information..

Cheers.

Thanks Regektid for your comment.  It was a tough question, as I said there is heaps of info for the Bandit GJ74A but not the GJ77A.  If I find any more good info I will post it.

Cheers
