n e 1 interested in a 91 bandit???
« on: November 16, 2007, 12:49:02 PM »
I didn't post in the FS section becuse I do not have the bike personally. A kid down the street has it. I'm considering buyin it just to have an extra rolling chassis  but I do not need the motor or front end  would any one be interested in those. It'll be cheap.  that'll be a motor kit I was told it started but has been sitting for a long time. carb cleaning is needed. I do not know anything else about the bike.

well.......it came back up for sale.  and I got it. and yes, it runs... horribly but it started. the carbs need to be gone though  That'll be done this weekend. when it was running it sounded strong. just slugish.  didn't sound like a twin. all it needs is front brake lever, guages, lights, front fender and the ugly knocked off it.
will probably be up LATE tonight.  :bandit:

Stormi :    i'm still having issues with getting the current date when I come to the board. It still shows sept 6. I have to do some trickery to get close to the current days postings.

Congrats on finding the good deal!

As a side note, you're better off sending me a PM or posting in the Board Problems forum if you need my attention about a problem with your account.  I don't always get to the forums as often as I like.

Here's a question for you:  What screen resolution do you have?  Find it by doing the following:
Right click your mouse anywhere there isn't an icon on your desktop.
Choose Properties.  This brings up the Display properties box.
Click on "Settings" and let me know what the numbers in the "screen area" box is.  For instance, mine is 1280 by 1024 pixels.

I suspect this is more a scrolling issue than an account issue.

The 250/400 FAQ forum has a last post date of Sept 6.  What happens if you scroll down further and look at the 250/400 forum?  If I log in as you ( and no, to anyone else reading this, I don't know all of your passwords or log in as any of you without your permission, Albert and I have been working on this for a while) I have no problem whatsoever seeing the forums as they should be, in either IE or Firefox.

ok, Got it running much better today... but It still needs more carb tweeking. It's all stock.  At idle the gas is comming out of the intake side of the carbs.(1,2,3)  nothing out of #4. I think thats why it runs like it does...
 any way...
As i originally posted If I got it I would try to sell the a motor kit from it.
sooooo.. $100 for everything that has to do with the motor. motor wiring carbs ecu,  everthing.
I'm keeping all the parts that have to do with a rolling chassis. I will be keeping the ignition(key), and bar controls. and the radiator (I think).  Not sure though I have to do some measuring to see,

$100 motor kit. oh! plus shipping.

That's a smoking deal for someone. If I didn't just move into a condo I'd be all over this.

150 lbs. Cost me $170 to ship it from NC to PA.

Best place: Forward Air.

You'll have to crate it (I would suggest building it off of a small pallet, tile stores are a great place to look) and drop it off.
