Factory Pro or Dynojet?
« on: April 12, 2006, 12:55:30 AM »
I'm looking into jet kits. Seems like these two are the most common kits people select. I'd love to get some feedback from you owners out there. If you have either one and would like to chime in that would be greatly appreciated.

I read in the faq section that the Dynojet might have had some problems on the B600, but other than that, I suspect that it is simply a matter of preference. I found the Dynojet kit on ebay for $100, I think I saw the factory pro kit for $130.

I have no experience with Dynojet so I can't speak to them but I'm a FP fan.  My TI needles are nice.  Marc there (not sure if he's an owner or what) is a wiz.  I think they provide very good service.

I have lots of experience with both, and I'll always buy Factory Pro from now on (doesn't hurt that I know several of the RD guys personally).  They're FAR more forgiving for DIY installers.

The one jet kit I've heard lots of good about, but have never used is by Ivans.  IIRC, he only does Kawasaki though.

Another vote for Factory Pro.  I have two of their kits for my bikes and they are great.  I don't know if Dyno Jet does this, but Factory Pro includes settings that other tuners have used on their specific bikes that have worked.  It's not how you should set up yours per se, but it gives a rough idea and good guidance.

I guess you don't ever stray into the 600/1200 sections do you?  :stickpoke:
If you did, you'd know the two most popular jet kits for the bigger ones is Holeshot & Ivan's.

JSYK, Ivan's has kits for several models of Kawasakis, Suzukis & Yamahas - even HD Big Twins.

I've had both kits in my bandit. My vote is for Factory Pro.

The needle tapper & jets are almost identical. So from a jetting standpoint both kits are pretty much the same.

My beef with the Dynojet kit is the needles wore extremely fast. The Factory Pro kit seems to be holding up much better.

The Factor Pro kit also comes with allen head screws to replace the brass philips ones that attach your float bowls. The Dynojet kit does not.

Damn, that was a coffee-up-the-nose funny.

I had the same question for Factory Pro, called them, and they pointed me here.

(Factory Pro also does direct sales.)

FWIW, the guys at Starcycle were great on the phone.

ordered the kit through Starcycle.com

After placing my order, I received an email saying delivery time was 5-7 days. I assumed it would be quite quick since we are both in California. Anyhow, 1 week passed with no jet kit   I was not given a tracking number or anything. I called today, and they have not received the kit either. I was under the impression that they stocked the kit and I would receive it 5-7 days after placing my order. Kind of sucks, waiting more than 1 week. To be fair, they are going to throw in a free t shirt since my order was over $100. Hopefully it gets here soon
