What causes worn needle jets?
« on: September 09, 2007, 11:31:48 AM »
I was cleaning my carbs yesterday and I noticed the needle jets on cylinders #3 and #4 are worn. #1 and #2 are okay.

What causes this? Unbalanced carbs? Play in the slides?

I replaced the needle jets less then 10,000 km ago. I'm using a factorypro jet kit. The needles are still in good shape.

I'm using the standard needles -- not the TI ones. I'll have to take a look at the slides.

Hey, I still post!  My work schedule is crazy.  I'm traveling a ton.  Then when I'm in the office and have a few minutes, our corporate web filtering software sometimes blocks BA.... sometimes not.  But, I'm still around.

What sucks is that the kids haven't been able to go to the track with me at all this year.  Something always comes up.  All the travel for work makes weekends away by myself at the track tough to justify.  If I'm still on the road so much in the spring, I think the track bike is going bye, bye....

Yeah - you're not the first person to suggest that.  I'm thinking a boat of some sort is more likely.  BTW, I've had some shit come up and the October Beaver weekend is in doubt.  I've gotten rained out my last 3 track days.  What a crappy year.
