Owner's manual
« on: April 24, 2006, 02:06:51 PM »
Does anyone have the owner's manual for the early model b4? I've got the service manual from the "members only" section, but the links for the owner's manual are dead. Anyone got a copy for me?

I haven't seen one, but have been thinking of scanning mine, to keep for posterity.  If I ever get to it, I can send you a copy.  Send me a private message if you're interested.

Alternatively, I know that paixaoj (Justin) is parting a 1991 B4, he may have a dead tree version of the manual to send you.  I met him tonight, nice kid.

Thank you for the links, BUT....

-The first one does not contain the owner's manual.
-The second one does not contain the OM for the early model, and the password is not correct.
-The third one does not contain the OM, only fiche.
-The fourth one is the one I was talking about, with the dead links.
-The fifth one is written in elvish, so I can't tell if there is any useful info here.

Elvish...hehe

I'm also hosting the repair manuals on my site in addition to pete's banditmotorcyles site (see reference to member's section).

Stormi, if you would be kind enough to scan your owner's manual and email it to me, I will upload it to my site & update the link.

Thanks,
Russ

The only problem with emailing it, is that it's going to be likely close to 100mb the way I scan!

I suppose I could put it on my server long enough for you to download it to host on your server.  I can't currently take that sort of a bandwidth hit, on a consumer grade account.

Sorry for the delayed answer,.. I've been a little pre-occupied with running in the rebuilt motor on the b4 the last few days.  Spring fever I guess.

I can also set up a FTP-server, if it makes anything easier for you...?

100megs?  Sounds like you save the images uncompressed.

You should easily be able to get each page/couple pages down to less than 10 meg jpegs.  Gmail allows 10 mb attachments.  I can reassemble them all into a high quality/small size pdf and host it.

Well,.. each pic is about 3-4 mbs, and there should be around 120 pages.. so, even once resized ( say 50%) to be managable in a pdf... it will be pretty close to 100MB. I'm about 1/2 done now, so I will know the full tally soon.

I suppose I could do the same for you.  I have a secure FTP server that you could log into using winSCP, and grab it, then host it wherever you please.   Would this work?

120 pages?  Wow, I didn't know it was that big!  Thanks for the work!  Still interested in hosting it on my site.

I suspected that was what was going on.  It's 231 pages in total, but the book is small enough that 2 pages fit on one 8 1/2 x 11.

I'm almost finished, so soon.

Alright, as soon as I'm finished, I'll provide you two access, and let you decide where you're going to put it.
