odd carb internals?
« on: November 06, 2008, 06:23:23 PM »
Hi all, take a look at the photo and can anyone tell me if the plastic slide holders should be different to each other as one is smooth on the top as the photo and the other 3 are raised as can be seen. thye smooth one allows the slide to fully bottom out in its seat, but the other 3 make the slides sit about 1mm up as you look through the carb. ive ran the bike for 10 years like this and always had slight carb probs, im sure they should all be the same and wonder if this is a one off or a posssible prob for all.

Cheers Jay.
Im sure the smooth one is correct and the others are wrong, d'nt know if anyone else got these in their carbs, they make the slide sit wrong in the carb as the top of the slide sits on the raised casting and dosnt bottom as it should. I will grind them off with the dremel. Its weird as ive had the bike since the early ninties and only spotted it by chance while putting new orings in!!!

Should only take 10 minutes every thing else measures up the same, its one of those things you expect to be ok, so never look for, the 3 wrong onesmust have been fitted before it came over from Japan.

Fits perfect, just hit the raised castings, if only one was raised then you could assume that it had been swoped with the wrong part, but the other way round seems weird, who knows some one changed them or they came out the factory wrong and with it being a VV modle your never 100% about anything, but for sure all the carbs should be the same. You thinkin they out of a different model?

Carnt be stock as the slides dont sit right at the bottom, thers no way they would sit up a mill at the bottom, well not to my knowledge, ive had loads of bikes and never seen it before, but who really knows theres just not enough info on the VV models, mabe someone else with an early VV model can take a look at theirs and put their findings on here? Anyone?

Have you seen the gsxr600 plug caps with the coils built in, wonder if they fit the B4 as ive been offered a set cheap.

they won't work on a b4 as they use a different resistance in their coils to work. 2005-6 gsf650 coils fit and work well i found.
