Portland International raceway is being repaved this year and everybody's season (including the car guys) is cut short.  Unfortunately we are done.  On a practice before last race  I low sided in turn one on cold tires.   :duh:   I had spare bars, pegs and levers and made it back out to kick butt.  Now, I have lots of lots of time to find a replacement fairing and new tank.  Another good reason to race the Kawi EX's is the plethora of used parts in salvage yards and on Ebay.

Jay, what's a "neway cutter"?
Theif, did you not race this season?

Not that I race but...  my track season is likely going to be cut short this year.  I find out tomorrow what kind of knee surgery I need and if I can put it off until the fall or not.  (I tore my meniscus dumping the bike in the pits on 6/8!  :duh: )

I find out tomorrow...  If I can put it off until after the Sept Beaver trip, I will.  It's getting worse (more painful) though so we'll see.  The problem is it's my right knee.  I'm not sure I can get off the bike.

Update (I know everyone was on the edge of their seats!):

No surgery.  I have partial tear of a ligament that is inoperable.  I just need to cool it (no running or mountain biking) for a couple weeks and I should be as good as I'm ever going to get.  As soon as I get paid on Friday, I'll be signing up for the Beav weekend.   :bigok:

Well, that sounds like good news... except for the "good as I'm ever going to get" part.

I tore a ligament once.  I kept re-injuring and re-injuring it, it took a long time to heal.  When the doctors say take it easy they really mean it.  Good luck.

What's the "September Beaver Trip?"
