Congrats!

I recently fired up one of my hibernating three wheelers.  Nothing sweeter than bringing it back from the dead (after a 7 year sleep).

Thanks! I just got the bad news though.  1 week for the Gear Shift Link Rod,.. At this rate, I'll be renewing my insurance before I get to ride her.  *sigh*  oh well.

What took ya 7yrs to bring it back? :shock:

Where did it break? Can you rig something up to last until the part arrives?

Well,.. I likely could if it was only one end that was broken.  But not realising that it was a reverse thread on the rear of the rod,.. I broke the other side.  :shock: The first bolt I've ever done that to.  it's just the rod, and it looks like it was made of pot metal.

Both sides are now broken at the threads.

I could likely get a piece of reddy rod to give me a rod that can thread into one side,.. what sort of rig were you thinking of?

We're giving it a try, I'm going to let it set up overnight, and see if it will hold for the week.  I'll probably reinforce it a bit with a coat hanger and zip ties or something too,... Poor Dita.  She's going to look like a "Red Neck" bike  :shock:   :lol:

If it was just the rod and not the ends, I was thinking you could rig something up. If the rod had snapped, just weld it (which is what I was thinking in my mind's eye might have happened).
