Thanks! I just got the bad news though.  1 week for the Gear Shift Link Rod,.. At this rate, I'll be renewing my insurance before I get to ride her.  *sigh*  oh well.

What took ya 7yrs to bring it back?

Well,.. I likely could if it was only one end that was broken.  But not realising that it was a reverse thread on the rear of the rod,.. I broke the other side.   The first bolt I've ever done that to.  it's just the rod, and it looks like it was made of pot metal.

Both sides are now broken at the threads.

I could likely get a piece of reddy rod to give me a rod that can thread into one side,.. what sort of rig were you thinking of?

We're giving it a try, I'm going to let it set up overnight, and see if it will hold for the week.  I'll probably reinforce it a bit with a coat hanger and zip ties or something too,... Poor Dita.  She's going to look like a "Red Neck" bike

If it was just the rod and not the ends, I was thinking you could rig something up. If the rod had snapped, just weld it (which is what I was thinking in my mind's eye might have happened).
