Removing Rotor Bolts

Ok, I ruined the Katana wheel I got with my Kat front end by snapping off the heads of 5 rotor bolts and then unsuccessfully trying to remove the broken studs.  

So now I have another Kat wheel (also with rotors on it).  I didn't heat the first wheel to break the Suzuki thread lock (didn't know I was supposed to), but plan to do it with this one.  How long is long enough to torch each bolt?  I have MAP gas and Propane.  I'm really hoping the heads don't break off on this one.

That sucks, John.  When I swapped my rotor, I soaked the bolts in Liquid Wrench,  heated the hell out of them, beat on them a little, broke a T-handle, bought a new t-handle, soaked them some more, heated some more...  It wasn't just the threadlock, they had corroded something awful.  They finally budged.  I used a propane plumbers torch to heat them.  Good luck.

You have to get the bolt over 400, but remember you have to get the heat all the way down to the threads. Heat one up for 20 sec let it sit for 20 sec then try to remove it. and dont pull so hard   lol  If you have an impact driver that will help as well

Most of them came out easy.  I even started losening, turned back in, losened, turned back in and so on, but the heads still broke off 5 of them.  I'm hoping it doesn't happen to this one as well.  The really bad part is that I stripped and painted the other wheel and polished the lip, not realizing I wouldn't be able to get the studs out.  The wheel looked really nice.  Maybe I should find a salvage yard with a wheel with no rotors and tell them I'll swap them mine, rotors and all.

Good news folks, I got all the rotor bolts out without a single one breaking.  I heated each bolt for 20 sec with Mapp gas, let it cool down, then heated the wheel itself for a good 30 sec or so while tapping the head of the bolt with a hammer.  All of them came out nice and easy.  maybe this Kat front end project will actually become a reality.  I noticed a few days ago while looking at my feedback on ebay that I bought the Kat front end nearly a year ago.  I didn't realize it had been that long.
