Just got a new Pirelli 150/70-17 C/M 69V Sport DEMON tyre and was wondering if it'll fit the wheel? At the moment i have Pirelli 150/70-17 69H. i knoe that the saze is the same but was wondering about those letters at the end of spec.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think those numbers at the end are the speed rating of the tyre. ie. what speed they have been tested to. So I think the tyres should fit, but if you are going to be riding fast and hard, you should read up on the speed ratings of tyres to make sure your new ones are up to the job.

It gives examples of tyre specs and tells you what each part means. Hope this helps.

Thanks alot COOPZ. I didnt think bout that one. But it does say that it is a sport tire, so should be ok. Just would hate bringing the tire to the shop and they telling me that it wont fit. The shop have a similar tire for 200 euro when i bought this one for 100. Big difference i tell you.Just hope they wont mind installing it for me. They shouldnt as im getting the whole bike serviced with them any way

Apparently, the 69 part of the numbers is the load index, but as this is the same number on each tyre, then you won't need to worry about that. And if your old speed rating was H, and the new tyre's speed rating is a V, that is an upgrade. H rated tyres are only rated to go 130mph, but the V rated tyres are rated to go up to 149mph, so that can only be a good thing. It means you are allowed to go faster without worrying about the tyre exploding beneath you!

Well done getting such a good deal on it too. Much better than going for the similar one at twice the price!

I need a new rear tyre myself to get me through an MOT next month (that is, if I can get the bike's revving problem sorted!), and I had a bridgestone battleaxe BT020 bookmarked on ebay. It was buy it now for £40, and delivery was £10. It was used, but had plenty of grip left. I was waiting till payday (yesterday) to buy it, but when I clicked back into it, the seller had ended the item early! Grrrr. There are a few other tyres on ebay that will fit, but I really want to get a BT020, as I have heard they are really good.

Hope the Pirelli works out well for you.

I did read bout your rev problem and sounds strange. Everything is ok but wont rev. Hope you get that sorted soon.
