Leaky Carb
« on: March 03, 2005, 11:23:58 AM »
OK... my floats are set correctly and I have new o-rings on the float posts (all 8).  When I pull the tank and release the pressure in the fuel line, I'm still getting a tiny drip of fuel out of the carbs.  It's really not even enough for the drip to fall, it just collects on the outside of the bowl.  Any ideas?  The bowl gaskets all look good.  I may try them next anyway.  Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

You could use some RTV high temp silicone on the float bowl gasket to stop the leak.

It may be due to warp on your float bowl which result in the leak, you can swap the float bowl to other carb to confirm.

man i replied to this once already and it disapeared , I said what theif wrote. anyways thats weired . I say its your fuel tubes that connect the carb banks together theres orings there . you should all fab up a remote fuel tank so you can set the carbs on the table and whatch what happens. a plastic lawnmower tank and shut off seems to be the cheapest way

Thanks, fellas.  Jay - Pete had a little snafu rebuilding the board this afternoon and a few posts were lost.  That's a good idea with the lawnmower tank!
