Does fork length differs in clip on models and bar models?
« on: September 11, 2006, 06:18:38 PM »
I think that there is a difference in the length along this two versions.
I have the clip on model (gsf 400p) imported from Japan , and i have just changed the top yoke and intalled bar.

I mesured the length of my fork and it is (with for fully extended)

82 cm ,32 inch from top bolt to bottom of the fork
20 cm , 7,8 inch from bottom yoke to uper spot of fork tubes
47 cm  , 18,5 inch from top bolt to fork tube

If anyone can mesure so we can see if there is any difference.

Yep, the clipon model has longer tubes. I just got the top yoke and clipons from one of them for my bar version and am trying to figure out the best way to get everything to fit well as my forks wont extend up through the holes in the clipons.

Well i have the oposite problem , my fork tubes hit the bar and i have a high front ride. I will wait until i install the katana shock that will raise the back , and after i may try to put spacers in clamp , but it seems to be dificult since the bottom half of the clamp is one piece with the yoke.

If someone  can mesure the fork for me , so i will now how much i should drop the yoke.

Thanks
