Too much oil
« on: June 24, 2006, 06:13:50 PM »
I've changed out the oil and filter today on my little B, and I've managed to put a little bit too much oil in it. Hard to say how much it is, but I would guess it's about half a centimeter above the F-line in the little window. Is this something I don't want, or is it not something I can point and laugh at, while not caring?

Regards from a Norwegian Bandit and its owner.

Generally not a Good Thing (TM).  But simple to fix, just take the squirter part out of a spray bottle (Windex, 409, whatever), Clean it off, drop it into the filler and squeeze out the volume you want to remove.

Or, if you happen to have a top-side oil extractor (handy for cars, lawn equipment, marine equipment, etc...  ), they're designed for just this task.
