Shorter control cables
« on: January 12, 2006, 09:10:01 AM »
I have a set of bars on my bike that puts the controls at a position similar to the Suburban Machinery bars. The riding position is way better than stock, but I have not been able to route the clutch, throttle and choke cables in a way I am happy with. I need cables a few inches shorter. Has anyone been down this road and found good replacements ? ( Ideally with a Suzuki part no.)  I'm thinking maybe GSXR400 or Jap-spec bandit with the clip-ons.
If I can't find something suitable I will try to find someone who carries Motion Pro stuff and order all the bits to make them myself.
:thanks:
Regards,
Steve

Good question, Steve.  I have the SM bars and don't like the routing of my clutch cable at all.

Jay, it's kind of funny, there's a guy with the same ham-fisted spelling as you in these VW forums I frequent. My God, you guys must have had the same ing-ga-rish teacher.

Maybe I'm getting used to it but someone should talk to babblefish for your asses...Ha!

Yes some people just know what you are saying, and others have nothing better to do than to pick on every miss spelled word! I take the time to answer not to check my grahmer! Im sure going to collage is gonna help a bit ,but I'm sure it will not change to much! As a Pharmacist I might have spell just a bit better! As a motorcycle mechanic it just wasnt that important! Cheers all you grahmer fookers! :monkeymoon:

Hey Mr. Death! Good advice. :bigok:
I have actually already shortened a set of cables, but I was hoping to find some OEM cables to put on the bike and keep my efforts to carry as spares. I may check out Terry Cable as Jay suggested and see what they have to say.
Thanks guys,
Steve

Sorry Jay just put the bike away, Wife got very sick so I had no time to tear into the motor this fall. but i did pick up a 2 step rev limiter and a wheel bar for racing next year. It's sledding time now. dailing in a new set of pipes and clutching changes.
