tripple tree stem removel
« on: October 19, 2006, 10:08:03 PM »
I'm looking for a front end for my bandit.  What is the process to remove the stem from the lower tripple tree and the lower tappered roller bearing on the stem.  The only time ive seen the bearings changed was bout 10 years ago and I think they heated them to expand the metal. I could be wrong though.

bearings come right of with heat and a punch(bronze) sometimes you have to gring a weld off the bottom of the stem and the stem then pushes out some heat is always good! hope that helps
