GK7AA swingarm on GK75A?
« on: August 04, 2008, 11:43:56 AM »
Sorry if this has been covered before.

Has anyone replaced the steel swingarm from a GK75A gen 1 400 with the ally swingarm from the 1997 GK7AA model? The later arm has the linkage mounts underneath rather than on top and I don't know what else I'd need to replace to make it all fit, if it's possible at all.

Any help much appreciated.

Will be a while before I try this now as the wife wants to use the bike for whatever Summer days we still have! Have sanded/sprayed the GK75A swingarm as best I can and it'll do for the rest of this season.
Can't seem to get an answer on what'll fit with the GK7AA arm (at the very least I'll need to change the 'cushion' bars/levers, i.e. the link from the shock linkage to the swingarm. With the new arm having the mounts underneath rather than on top, the 7AA bars/levers must be a lot shorter. I may also need to swap the shock itself.

Cheers, Chaz
