Hello,
first post, first problem.
Here in Thailand, I own a Bandit 400. Year is unknown, but I will attach some pictures.
At moment, the bike doesn't start because of lacking spark.
It had always a weak spark (compared to my other bike) and was hard to start sometimes.
Bike has a "normal" engine. No VC engine.
But it seems, somebody has tinkered a VC harness + VC ignitor into that bike. Or maybe it was a VC in his "former life" and somebody has changed the engine..
Some plugs (VV related) are unconnected. But the bike ran before.
The signal generator and coils are ok. Checked with a pocket tester.
So I need an igniter box. Do I really have a VC ignitor, or could it be something else?
The only wiring diagram, which matched this ignitor, is from a VC model
PS: I "opened" the ignitor, but the board is completely moulded with silicone
thanks in advance and sorry for my not perfect english
EDIT:
My bike has this timing rotor: Which "non VV" CDI/ignitor (parts number) would match?

EDIT 2:
As far as I could recognize, on an older photo, the CDI is a 32900-33D00. So really a VV CDI.

The cdi is VVC and the rotor is the correct one for a VVC.
You can tell if the frame originally had a VVC engine due to the frame rails that run along the side of the cam cover being half round not tubular and the main frame rail on the left at the carbs has a cutout for the TPS to fit into.
First thing to check is that there is 12v at the orange coil wires.

Sorry for my late response, I just forgot this thread.
The pickup and coils are ok, 12V also ok.
Nothing more to check.
So I need a new CDI.
After some enquiries, it seems that a "normal" CDI with this number
32900-10D60
would match the rotor.
Now I just need a CDI... :annoy:
