lots of liquid in far left sparkplug hole?
« on: May 15, 2009, 04:43:21 AM »
hey just got a nonrunner today and i was going about taking a look at everthing and when i went to remove the far left spark plug cap thing it reveeled the spark plug swimming in what SMELLS like simple green.  i have no idea what this means...the other plugs are also a little wet but this one was seriously like filled to the top with liquid.  also, so how do i get this liquid out before taking the plug out?

Id just turn it upside down just like how you oiled your bicycle chain when you were a kid........ :welcome:

All kidding aside, if you have an air compressor, just use a blow gun and blow it all out of there. Who ever you got the bike from tried to do a quick clean up on it and doused it with Simple green or some kind of pre-treat cleaner. The boots on the plug wire tend to ride up the wire and leave the spark plug holes open for attack. No big deal, just keep an eye on them.

hehehe, so i used a screw driver to shove a rag into the hole to sop everything up.  just find it so weird that that was the only one with a bunch of fluid in it, so anyway, i was going to hook everything back up but i forgot how i took the wires off the plugs. can anyone help with which wires go to which plugs?

The drain hole at the bottom of the plug well is probably clogged.

If you look under the exhaust of that cylinder, there should be a little hole that leads to the plug well. Clean it out with some wire and compressed air and you should be fine.
