1996 Bandit 600 shock options??
« on: September 15, 2007, 01:23:38 AM »
Hi guys I'm new, and I tried searching with very few results.  I was wondering how many people out there have replaced their rear shock with a stiffer one.  Possibly from another bike.  If anyone knows the length/dimensions of the stock shock that would be very helpful in finding a replacement.  Thanks

A G1 B12 shock works very well on the G1 B6, that is if your over 110lbs. If you can find a used b12 shock for cheap you should give it a try. I think Dale at HoleShot sells a Progressive '420' shock if you have money ot burn.

Does anyone know the stock shock length for my 600?  I am thinking of trying out some different options if I can go based on length.  Thanks

Well, the 1G B12 shock is 306mm long, and judging from the picture above, it appears to be the same length (or darn close) as the 1G B6 piece.

FWIW, the 2G is 320mm.

I have my old shock (96 B6). Do you want the length of the shock? Or length from center of top bolt hole to center of bottom bolt hole? Or both?

hey guys I just wanted to let you know that I got a 1993 Gsxr750 shock off of ebay last week and successfully installed it this week.  The improvement is amazing even though I am still riding on stock front suspension.  I already ordered some sonic springs to hopefully help even things out.  For those of you trying to find information on mounting shocks, the gsxr shock was a simple install.
