New Bandit owner and FMF exhaust question
« on: December 06, 2014, 04:04:50 PM »
Hi all. I'm new to this forum and I just got a 2000 Bandit 1200S with 14,000 miles on it for 1300 dollars. The bike has seen a little weather but overall is pretty nice. I'm 56 years old and have had many different bikes over the years, the fastest of which was a turbocharged 2 valve GS1000. I currently have a 1993 Ducati 750SS and a 1976 Honda CB550K commuter bike along with the new Bandit. I'm loving the Bandit and I am going to do the extra 2" hole in the airbox mod with 127.5 mains and needles shimmed .050". The bike came with an FMF slip on pipe which is gold in color. The canister is oval in the front and round in the rear. I was wondering if anyone knows what this pipe is made of. I know FMF made titanium pipes for Bandits and was hoping that maybe this is one of them. I've had the pipe off and it is light. The mid pipe is paper thin and weighs next to nothing. Any ideas?

Oops...  A little late to the party.....   :banghead:

:welcome: to the site.  Sweet ride too.  No ideas on the set-up.  I tend to get a plug-n-play style carb kit.

Keep us posted on your progress.
