Need help with a hose and electrical plug for '01 1200 S
« on: March 31, 2017, 10:39:59 PM »
Hey, everyone.

Brand new here.

My 2001 Bandit 1200S has been a great bike.

I discovered a hose hanging on the left side of the bike (it's one of the vent hoses coming from the engine).

Well, I pulled the tank off a few months back, then had knee surgery. So, I'm just now getting back to it.

I need to know where it actually connects to, 'cause I'm not seeing where and I didn't disconnect it. The right side hose from the engine block runs up towards the steering head, but I don't see where the left connects to.

Also, I see an electrical plug and don't remember it from before. I know about the one that connects to the fuel tank, but this one, I just can't seem to find where it goes. Help please!

The pic shows the hose and electrical plug:

Appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Nuff said and I can dig it.

The hose look like the one from the airbox to the valve cover.

Cool...thanks.

I'll pull the fairing off and try to find it.

Anyone out there think they know where the plug goes?

Appreciate the help.

Nuff said and I can did it.

Since noone else replied, what plug are you referring to?  I don't see it in the picture, which is blurry when you blow it up.

Hey, asskickinpeanuts.

I took a look at a repair manual I downloaded.

Seems to be for the carb heaters, which I don't have.

I'll probably pull the fairing off this weekend to find out exactly where the hose was connected. The hose comes from in between carbs 1 & 2. The identical hose on the right side comes out in between carbs 3 and 4.

Thanks.

Sounds like the float bowl vent hose.  Run it back to somewhere down the frame to near the back wheel.
