2003 B6S Gearing Question
« on: September 04, 2006, 07:39:24 PM »
Hello everyone. Been lurking on this site for a while now but this is my first post. Good to be here etc. Now, down to business.

My 03 B6S is currently sporting a 15T front sprocket, 43T Rear and a 110 Link chain. They were on there when I bought it and it's time for a new chain. Now, my question. What are the stock teeth numbers and chain length for this bike? Between my manual, Chain Man. Websites and other people I've been hearing all kinds of numbers. I know the 15T front is stock but I've heard from 110 links to 112 and anywhere from 45T rear to a 48.

I was hoping to have this chain last me to the end of the season but it looks like I will be ordering one this week. I'm probably going to leave the sprockets as they are for now since I like this set up but knowing the stock #s would be nice.

Thanks in advance!

The 600 bandit has 15/48 sprockets with a 110 link chain,im pretty certain the 1200 has 15/44 sprockets with a 112 link chain.For more fun,acceleration and mid range,fit a 14 tooth front sprocket.Tim

B6S gearing

I have a 2000 B6S.  Currently running a 14T/48T.  It's definitely snappier then stock (15/48)- be prepared for some revs though, indicated 90 MPH (about 78 MPH actual I think) is 7000 RPM.  Still, the B6 revs like heck anyway, so no big deal...you'll notice a pretty big change over your current gearing if you go that route.  Good luck.

Since this post I've fitted my new chain on the bike. I find it strange how a 15/48 combo would need a 110 link chain. My 110 just barely fit with -5 in the rear :?:

Oh well. It's done with now. Maybe when it's time for new sprockets I'll try another setup.
