B6 Fork Oil

I'm going to be replacing my fork seals this week on my 1G B6, but I'm not sure what weight fork oil to get or how much I'm going to need. Will the weight vary based on set up? Like Progressive springs? Normal bike load? Etc? And I want to say that I saw somewhere the capacity was listed around 522ml. Does this sound right?

I used Silkolene 5w synthetic - a single 1-liter bottle worked for me.  You'll have to measure carefully.  Put exactly half in and you'll likely pull a little out to get the correct height.  If you plan to do a flush, get two bottles and use about 200-400 in each fork and re-drain.  That way you'll have a little left over.

Note - I'm running race tech springs and gold valves.  The oil weight was recommended to me by the guy who installed those components.

just a tip passed on to me by an old salt...in order to make measuring fork oil and putting it in easy use a turkey baster. Works like a charm...just don't put it back in the kitchen
