Block Off Plates

I noticed gsxrzone.com sells block off plates for Suzuki GSXRs (to remove the PAIR system), but don't know if the 30mm spacing that they mention would fit my Bandit.

My application is a 2003 Bandit 1200S, but comments are welcomed on others if known.

I have a 1G and have not had any experience with it but there is a helpful link on this site and Holeshot makes a kit specifically for the Bandit.

The gaskets look different, but I suppose that doesn't much matter for a block-off plate. I don't know what the stud spacing is on the B12, but if its 30mm, the APE/GSXR Zone plates would be a better buy than the Holeshot bits. You'd still have to source a plug for the air box nipple, but that should be ~$2 at the local auto parts joint.

Turbo Bob currently has a set of cylinders and a head at APE being prepped for his turbo ZRX1200R I'll have him check into it for me when picks up his parts and perhaps pick up a set for my 02 1200S.

Yeah I did a quick measurement on mine too and it was 44mm. A far cry from 30mm
Oh well Holeshot or make my own.

I just ordered a set from  Holeshot, they're on sale for 32.00 + shipping.

I knew I was going to spending some time in the tooling department at work so I stripped one of the tubes off my bike and used it as a template.

I found a good chunk of 1/8" thick aluminum stock in the scrap been and sheared down some 3/4" x 2 1/4" pieces. A little time with a scribe and a   duplicate punch and the layout was complete. Followed by a trip to the drill press and some shaping on the disk sander and this is what I came up with!



The crap that came off!
