carb screw size?
« on: October 28, 2011, 06:35:48 PM »
I've got the carbs off the bike for a good cleaning, and plan on replacing the float bowl screws (at least.)  Has anyone done this that remembers the size, thread pitch, etc?  I can obviously go to the hardware store and figure it out by trial and error, but I'm feeling lazy!

If no one knows, I'll post up the sizes here once I figure it out  :bandit:

I picked up a SS metric cap screw assortment box on mcmaster.com and replaced them from that.  I think they were M6.

^^^ Yes, probably M4.  M6 does seem too big in retrospect.

M4 x 10mm, thread pitch .70

Turned out to be an easy match, even at Lowes, who never have anything.  I got hex-head screws for easier removal.
