I just changed the oil and filter on my 96 600s yesterday. To get the filter off I had to remove an oil cooler banjo fitting. Is this normal or is there some other trick?

You shouldnt have to remove the oil lines, just reach in there and unscrew it, then its kinda a wrist thing to work its way out...
Could be possible that someone has changed out your oil cooler?
I can get mine out with stock everything.
