okay i was browsing through the for sale section on this board and came across exhaust for sale from a 98 bandit 1200. Would this fit on my 99 bandit 600?? "I have the rear section to a Yosh RS3 full system" that is what the post says... it was posted by Darkbandit1200...you guys think it would work?

As long as the "rear section" includes the midpipe, yes, it'll fit the B6 just fine, no matter what year it is.

yes it comes with the midpipe, the only thing that i looks like it doesnt come with is the strap to attach it to the top mounting spot on the can itself, are those easy to come by or would i have to order one from yoshi or could i pick one up at a local bike shop??... the exaust is only 50 bucks mainly because of some road rash on it... but im not too worried about that as it wont bother me too much since my stock exhaust is scraped up because of my bike falling over onto it. if you guys say it would work i believe you i just want to be sure, so i dont buy it and it not fit..

i was looking at the pictures the guy sent me and to me it looks like the tip of the midpipe is too big to fit in the end of the header??? sorry im asking so many questions but i would realy really hate to buy it and not be able to use it...any way at all i could know for sure would be great...

Don't know if you can get a band clamp at your dealer or not, you might ask them. I'm sure Yosh will sell you one if they don't.

There's no difference in the size of the midpipe where it slips into the header collector between the 600 & 1200. If it's for a B12, it'll fit the B6.

okay.. i understand that fact.. but the header collector from the guys bike is also a yosh.... would that affect how the midpipe attaches or not??
also how does the yosh exahaust sound??

It might, I can't say for sure, your best bet would be to contact Yosh and ask them if there's any difference. I know Holeshot's header collector is the same size as stock...

As far as sound, all the Yosh pipes I've heard sound good. Volume & tone are going to depend on if it's a street core or a race core and the condition of the packing.

so i am having trouble finding exhaust for my 99 B6... they only kinda that i can find is D & D... would aftermarket exhaust for a 1200 bandit fit on the 600 stock header collector??
also whats the difference between a slip on and a bolt on muffler???

You can use a slip-on for any year B12 on any year B6 as long as the can hangs with a band clamp and not a welded on tab. (Most of them use band calmps.)

The difference between a bolt-on and a slip-on is a bolt-on can bolts to the flange of the stock B12 mid-pipe (b6 cans are welded on here, as are '04-up B12's). 2000-back B12's have their flange attached to the mid-pipe in a different position than the 2001-2003 B12's. The bolt pattern is the same, but the clocking is different. A slip-on replaces the stock mid-pipe and the can slips onto the new mid-pipe and is held in place with a clamp or springs.
