Bike stalls with hard braking

I'm having this problem as well....and then the battery died.  Luckly I was about a mile and a half from home.  I tried popping the clutch (in 2nd gear), and it would kinda start up, but then as soon as I hit the brake, it would die again.  I ended up pushing the bike most of the way.

I'm going to have the battery tested/charged/replaced.  After that, I think the carbs are going to need to be looked at.  What do you think the dealer is going to want to "deal" with this?

I took the battery to Advanced Auto.  They charged it, but the battery was very hot.  They reccommeded that it be replaced.  New battery was about $50.  I installed it the new one, and the bike started right up.  Go figure.
