I have gsx-r 750 slingshot cams in my 1st gen. I'm hoping to do the 1216 kit over the next winter.  I don't think I'll need to change the cams with the change though. Maybe bump the compression up a bit though. And it would be nice to do a dyno run afterwards to see where I'm at, but it all seems to come down to how much $ I have to spend at the time.   Dan

Greetings brother; I,m using the same as dan. depends what you want.  If you are going big money then aftermarket cams, mega for one, but require hardened followers, low profile guides, and retainers, all that is $$$. plus oversize valves is always a good idea. What is your objectives? budget.  Ive seen 1216,s running ported heads stock valves and stock intakes on gen2 with a better exhaust cam, they are awsome road scoots. also you need to increase breathing on intake and exhaust, carbs, headers, it never ends if you dont want it to.   Something to think bout.   sandy
