Jetting on BSF 36mm Mikuni carb for 2003 1200 bandit

A bandit FAQ site suggests for a quick fix on this model bike change the standard pilot jetting from 15 to 27.5, which I have done.  The chart above this line says for a second generation bandit, the mains can be changed from 100 to 110 and the carb needles can be lifted 20,000.  Does this mean to do the pilots only? or both the pilots and the main and needles can be altered also?

My bike has a Scorpion pipe, a K&N filter and the changed pilots, and I had two fun runs at the night drags for the first time & was doing 12.6's but my reaction time was 1.1, which Im allowed because Im 50.  

My question is, Im changing gear at 8,800 rmp every time as a dyno said that this is when the bikes is making all the power.  Am I under revving it? and should I be revving it much harder to get a better time?

Given the filter and exhaust changes, you would be wise to up the mains and shim the needles. Better still would be to get a jet kit from Factory Pro, Holeshot or Ivans and get new needels with better profiles and multiple clip positions.
