Leo Vince Exhaust/2G 600 with bags(pics)

Hi Guys

I just finished the first of my winter projects, installing a Leo Vince SBK slip-on and mid pipe. Installation went with no hickups. Pretty straight forward. The new mid-pipe has a stop for the centre stand. The combo saves about 5-6 lbs vs the stock unit. The oval silencer has extra clearance to the road, but I never came close to dragging the stock unit.

I did have to "pull" the new slip-on down as low as possible (the Leo Vince has an adjustable mount) NOT to clear the bags, but to clear the bag mount that connects to the passenger peg.

The SBK is a straight through design. The EVO II model comes with a removable baffle that does NOT come with the SBK. I will have to wait and see if it is too loud. I did fire it up quickly in the garage, and it sounds OK. Nice rumble at idle (even from the little 600).

Hopefully forcing the exhaust system lower doesn't place too much stress on the header bolts and wont crack anything over time as pushing down or forcing the pipe at that far end places a great amount of leverage on the header connection. When I fit my Yosh I will will have a muffler shop make me a new mid pipe out of stainless steel with the proper bend.

Hopefully forcing the exhaust system lower doesn't place too much stress on the header bolts

Point taken, and I was initially a little concerned as well...but, the mid pipe bolts to the stock mount under the engine just aft of where the mid pipe connects to the header slip joint. Most of the "pressure" is taken by the mid pipe and mount. Likely, I will have to keep an eye on the mid pipe mount. It is also likely that the pipe will work it's way up to contact the nut under the passenger peg mount.

Anyway, a pretty clean installation overall, and I'm satisfied.

Now...if only this snow and cold (-14C/6F tonight) were gone, I could test it. Sigh...going skiing tommorow however.

Don't have much else to do with the Bandit, so I may tear into my son's KDX175 (oldie) and maybe change the fork oil and coolant in my CR250R.

Yeppers... I had a Yosh RS-3 before the fully Muzzy system, and I agree that it would be almost impossible to transmit any torque forward of the midpoint mount.
